Cookie Policy
Last updated 19 June 2026 · Operated by Stan SAS (France)
Hodlr uses the minimum cookies and similar technologies needed to run the Service. We do not run ads, and we do not track you across other websites. This page explains what we store on your device, why, and how you can control it. For how we handle your personal data generally, see our Privacy Policy. For who operates Hodlr, see our Legal Notice.
1. What cookies and similar technologies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. Cookies let a site remember things between page loads and visits, such as the fact that you are signed in.
Similar technologies include local storage, which is another way a website can save small amounts of data in your browser. We explain below exactly what we keep there.
We use these technologies only to make the Service work and to remember your choices. We do not use them to build advertising profiles or to follow you around the web.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
When you sign in with LinkedIn, we set a single authentication (session) cookie. This cookie keeps you signed in as you move around Hodlr, so you do not have to log in again on every page.
This cookie is strictly necessary: without it, you could not stay signed in or use any feature that requires an account. For this reason it cannot be switched off while you are using the Service, and, under French and EU rules, it does not require your prior consent.
We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising, or tracking. The session cookie is the only cookie Hodlr itself sets.
3. Local storage we use on your device
To make the app work smoothly, we keep a small amount of information in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is not sent to ad networks or third-party trackers.
Specifically, we store: your cart (the Cards you have added before checkout); your display preferences, such as grid density and similar view settings; and your onboarding state, so we do not show you the same introductory steps again.
Real payments are not enabled yet: any prices, sales, fees and royalties shown in the app are not charged. The cart we keep in local storage does not trigger any real charge.
You can clear local storage at any time through your browser settings (see "How to manage or clear cookies" below). Clearing it will reset your cart, your display preferences, and your onboarding progress.
4. Sign-in
We use LinkedIn only as a sign-in and identity provider. During the LinkedIn OAuth sign-in flow, LinkedIn may set its own cookies on your device.
Those cookies are controlled by LinkedIn, not by us, and are governed by LinkedIn's own cookie and privacy policies. We have no control over how LinkedIn uses them.
For more on how we handle the LinkedIn data you choose to share at sign-in, see our Privacy Policy.
5. No advertising or cross-site tracking
Hodlr does not show advertising. We do not set advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your data for advertising.
We do not use cross-site tracking technologies, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. The only cookie we set is the strictly necessary session cookie described above.
6. How to manage or clear cookies
You can manage or delete cookies and local storage through your browser settings. Most browsers let you view what a site has stored, delete it, and block future cookies. Look in your browser's privacy or site-data settings, or use its help pages.
Signing out of Hodlr clears the authentication session cookie, so you are no longer signed in on that device.
Please note: if you block or delete the strictly necessary session cookie, you will not be able to stay signed in or use account features. Clearing local storage will reset your cart, display preferences, and onboarding state.
7. Consent and your rights
Because the only cookie we set is strictly necessary to provide the Service, French and EU rules do not require us to ask for your consent before setting it, and we do not show a cookie banner for it.
If we ever introduce cookies or similar technologies that are not strictly necessary, such as analytics or advertising, we will ask for your consent first through a banner with equally clear "accept" and "reject" options, keep non-essential cookies off by default, let you change your mind as easily as you gave consent, and ask again at least every 13 months, in line with CNIL guidance and the EU ePrivacy rules.
Cookies and local storage can involve personal data. To learn about your rights of access, correction, deletion, objection and portability, and how to exercise them, please see our Privacy Policy.
8. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example if we change the technologies we use. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page.
If a change introduces cookies that are not strictly necessary, we will ask for your consent before setting them, as required by law.
